Breeding and Pregnancy Timelines

Follow our mare's progress during breeding and foaling season. I will try and post weekly updates of mares close to foaling.

12/9/09

Amy starting to show signs of coming into heat.

1/4/10

Amy growing two follicles on left side. Right side is quiet.

1/11/10

Amy growing one large follicle and +3 adema. If we were breeding her on this cycle, she would be at the stallions location. We are letting her go through one cycle and then will be breeding on second cycle.

1/15/10

Ovulation and beautiful CL

1/28/10

Amy is coming back into heat. This time, left side is quiet and right side has activity.

2/1/10

Amy is progressing and has one dominate follicle. Yeah.....we're heading to the Tom and Jeans where Entitlement is standing. Amy was teased with the stallion but not quite ready for him yet.

2/2/10

Amy showed to the stallion and was live covered.

2/4/10

Amy showing very strong heat and live covered again.

2/6/10

Amy not showing as strong of heat, but did accept the stallion one more time :)

2/8/10

Amy checked for ovualtion and YIPPEE!!!! A beautiful CL and vet said uterus looks perfect with no retention of any fluids.

Let's pray there's a baby on board!!! We will be checking her on 2/23/10 for pregnancy.

2/24/10 Baby ON BOARD!!! YIIPPEE!!!!

Heart beat detected. Amy is safe in foal to "Entitlement" for an early 2011 NWSSA foal!!

Amy is officially 246 days into her pregnancy. She's definitely showing in foal. We'll start the countdown soon!! I'll be posting pics in a few days.

We are planning on bringing the mares into the barn the 15th of October and starting them under lights to get them cycling and ready for an early February breeding. Will have progress posted as soon as we start to get them checked in mid December :) Can't wait!!! Should be a very exciting year :)
